The spring and the autumn are suited particularly for excursions close to and further inland of La Marina. Away from the beaches in the green hinterland, in the mountains, with great views of the different best preserved sceneries. Climb the mountains, enjoy the fantastic views of the countryside and of the sea and be surprised by the Spanish friendliness. You will discover a lot of new things. La Marina has more than the beach and the sun to offer.
The villages of San Fulgencio, La Marina-Pueblo, Rojales, Almorad to, Crevillente, Dolores and Catral etc. invite you to visit them. Stroll by the Old Towns, along the mostly agrarian-economically used surfaces, past oranges and lemon trees, and call into the little stores with a wide offer of local products (e.g. jewellery, fans, wine, ham and olive oil).
A little bit further you can take part in a medieval dinner in Alfas del Pi, visit Guadalest and Benidorm or go to the Sanctuary La Magdalena, in Novelda. It was built in a modernism style by Jose Sala, a pupil of the famous architect Gaudi.
You can purchase red and rose wines in the area of Monovar, El Pinoso. This cultivation area will entice you. It is known beyond the Spanish land borders for its very good wines. In every Bodega wine can be tasted, and visitors are often offered honey and olive oil as well. In Petrel and Villena, their castles, which are from the 12th century, can be visited.
